Kelsey Martinez is a natural born leader. She's a strength coach, which means she helps athletes prevent injuries and get more powerful, and she became the first female strength coach on staff in the NFL. Now, she's back in her hometown of Pueblo, CO, making a difference in her community and helping high school students step up their game in sports. Her goal is to make sure they're better prepared when they go to college and understand what their bodies are capable of doing.
Kelsey gives 110 percent to anything she sets her mind to, so it's not surprising that her advice to young girls is to never create limits on yourself, and always be the best you can be. While she wouldn't purposefully put herself in a position of leadership, it's hard not to follow Kelsey and be inspired by her talent and athleticism. Watch the video above to learn more about Kelsey's mission and how she's shaping the next generation of athletes.
POPSUGAR and Univision partnered with Target to highlight change-makers who are bringing joy and positivity to their communities through a new bilingual podcast, Juntos We Shine. Don't miss Kelsey's episode, where you'll get a closer look at her story and work.
