The Guardians of the Galaxy actress, and new mom of three, shared the story behind her favorite Chinese-Latino hybrid dish, a turkey quinoa stir-fry seasoned with soy sauce, sesame oil and white wine, in a video for her YouTube channel, Cinestar Pictures.
"My first years in New York were amazing because we were exposed to so many cultures and that means you are exposed to so many variations of food," Zoe said. "I became very, very fond of the Chinese cuisine, so when we moved to Dominican Republic I really, really, really missed having amazing, delicious, Chinese food." That's when her mom started cooking dishes featuring the flavors of Asian cuisine with tropical vegetables available to her on the Caribbean island. Years later, Zoe is sharing her favorite gluten-free version of that stir-fry she ate as a kid, and it looks delicious. Press play above for the recipe.
