Busy's Instagram Post
Busy Philipps just took everyone to school with a lecture on grammar and proper social media etiquette. The lesson of the day? Stop f*cking body shaming! The 38-year-old actress recently shared a photo on Instagram from her dance-inspired fitness class with her go-to trainer Lauren Kleban of LEKfit. She looks fabulous — toned as ever with an on-point metallic manicure — but one body-shaming troll (who should probably visit an eye doctor) felt the need to comment on her photo writing, "Ughhhh, you're rolls are showing."
As a journalist, improper grammar makes my skin crawl, but as the recipient of this eye-roll-inducing comment, Busy decided to teach this person a lesson. Captured by the Instagram account Comments by Celebs, Busy responded, "I feel like a man of your age should know the difference between YOUR and YOU'RE. YOUR is POSSESSIVE, as in 'YOUR rolls are showing.' (Get it? The rolls BELONG to me.) YOU'RE is an abbreviation for YOU ARE, as in YOU'RE CLEARLY AN ASSH*LE BODY-SHAMING LOSER. ✌🏼"
Mic. Drop. Case. Closed. Game. Over. The comments on Busy's post immediately started pouring in with praise for her response, and also slamming the original commenter for his insensitivity. Regardless of the grammatical error, body shaming is absolutely never acceptable. We need to lift each other up, not bring each other down with senseless negativity.
