Jimmy Fallon is giving us our much-needed drama fix with his self-isolation soap opera. During Friday night's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the late-night host brought back "The Longest Days of Our Lives" — his parody of NBC's Days of Our Lives — starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig. It's the third episode of the hilarious segment, and there's a Zoom baby on the way and a whole lot of family drama brewing.
Oh, and that baby you're wondering about? That's Jake Gyllenhaal in a fabulously blond wig. "Apparently when you're pregnant on Zoom, you really zoom through the pregnancy," Wiig said in reference to her absurdly grown newborn Gyllenhaal.
Because we know it's hard to follow, here's the background: in the fake soap opera scandal of the century, Vanessa (Wiig) became pregnant with an "internet baby," causing a rift between her and her lover Winston (Fallon) after she'd secretly been seeing his long-lost brother Fontaine (Ferrell). The drama continues in the latest episode, when Gyllenhaal chases after Fallon in a series of changing Zoom backgrounds. Watch the seriously entertaining segment above, which also includes appearances by soap stars Susan Lucci, Heather Locklear, Maurice Benard and Mary Beth Evans.
