We still have a few more days to go until Dumplin' comes out, but in anticipation for its release, Dolly Parton dropped a stripped-down rendition of her hit "Jolene" on YouTube on Friday. The 1973 track is featured as an acoustic version in the movie's soundtrack, and in the accompanying black-and-white video, Parton is shown singing at the mic with a full string section. "Jolene's been on the prowl a long time, but she just got a makeover and I couldn't be more excited to share the new string version with y'all!" Parton previously tweeted.
Dumplin' is a comedy-drama based on the New York Times bestselling book by Julie Murphy and follows a "self-proclaimed fat girl" named Willowdean (Danielle Macdonald) as she goes through life under the rule of her former beauty-queen mom (Jennifer Aniston) in Texas. The movie will be available on Netflix and in select theaters on Dec. 7.
