The entire cast of The Lion King was on edge when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended the London premiere — yes, even Beyoncé. In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Billy Eichner — who voices Timon in the remake — opened up about what it was like to be in the presence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. "I completely freaked out, although they were very, very nice," he said.
Billy went on to explain how the cast received an email days before the premiere detailing protocol and how they were expected to act around Harry and Meghan. "They are very intense about it. I'm not kidding," he said, adding, "My guest I brought with me, my very good friend Jared, they said he had to stand behind me and not speak unless he was spoken to. I was like, 'Does that same rule apply to JAY-Z?' I have a feeling it doesn't."
Thankfully for our viewing pleasure, Billy's nervousness was captured in a video taken by Seth Rogen moments before they met Harry and Meghan. To no surprise, the royal couple was "lovely," and Billy ended up having quite a bit in common with Meghan because they both studied theater at Northwestern University.
The star-studded premiere marked Harry and Meghan's first time meeting Beyoncé and JAY-Z. In a video of their highly publicized encounter, Beyoncé greeted Meghan as "my princess" (!) and went on to say, "We love you guys." Hear more about the exciting evening by watching Billy's interview above.
