Brides Will Flip For the Updo at Lela Rose
When we heard Lela Rose showed her backstage beauty team images of chef Ferran Adrià's oysters as inspiration for Fall 2014, we didn't know quite what to expect. But the result was a look that shimmered from head to toe. Ted Gibson created a chic updo using a method he called the "twist and shout." The simple method rolls hair around the hairline until you reach the nape. This look can work on many different hair lengths, but make sure to give it texture so it isn't too pretty. Gibson finished the style with a pearl pin to get in the oyster connection.
Butter London's Katie Jane Hughes also took on the pearlescent theme to create the "floating nail art." She used Alabaster Gaze to create a diagonal tip on a clear base coat. The shimmering hue makes the ideal Winter white polish and complemented the silver and pearl shades in the collection.
As for makeup, there was plenty of shine! Lead makeup artist Romy Soleimani for Beauty.com used Boots No. 7 Intense Eye Cream as a base for all the gold and silver glitter shades. To balance the eye, Soleimani just applied Kevyn Aucoin lip gloss in Dahliana on the lips.
